Hiyori walked around the Seireitei, bored to death. How, in the midst of preperation, could she be bored you ask? Simple. There was nothing she could do. Well, that was a lie. There was stuff she could do other than walk around. Mikontora could help, nah, that wasn't her. She could go to the Human World and hunt Hollows. Nah, she wasn't in the mood for that either, and surprisingly, she wasn't in the mood for a fight either.
Hiyori wandered around. She knew the layout of the Seireitei like the back of her hand. The captains robe swayed when she walked, and some loose hair fluttered down around her face. If she didn't have that stern look on her face, one would have called her beautiful. Hiyori had complements like that before, but, none were quite recent. Her face was hard, almost like stone. Hiyori paused from walking, and when she continued on her way, at the end of the way, she stopped. She had been walking for hours and she knew this was going nowhere.
Mikontora took off her captains robe, folded it, and removed Tensai Nekura. Hiyori placed the katana on top of the robe and she jumped up to the top of the wall and sat there. Hiyori became relaxed and started to close her eyes. Before she knew it, another reiatsu came in contact with her senses. Hiyori's eyes flipped open and looked around. "Who is there?"

The third squad's objectives have been clear. They were to spend the day off and relax, an ironic twist to the usual hollow slaying. However, one man took great splendor to this twist, and made it his own. Today he was going to go for a walk, a long one at that, one that he should have made many times before but was too preoccupied to do so. His arms were stretched out wide in the air as a long, wide, yawn escaped his mouth. His Zanpakuto, Sonata, rested casually upon his left shoulder as usual and glimmered in the warm sun of the Soul Society. His warm, caramel-colored eyes, glanced forward in pure optimism and they beamed in the light like disco balls. Ichiro's black Shinigami uniform had been replaced by a rather fancy robe. It was of a bright crimson shade and was layered with several ornate designs of Japanese botany. Its wide sleeves covered Ichiro's tan arms completely and masked his entire body from the world. Only his soft, unspoken, face was left open for the world to apprehend.
His walk soon came to a close as he stumbled upon what seemed to be the captain of the second division, Hiyori Mikontora. Her chiseled expression wrought a psychotic disaster within Ichiro's mind, a blow far worse than any sword could ever deal. It was his first time meeting with a being with such strength. Calm down...If I play it cool, I won't have any problems with her. Ichiro released his tensed grip on his hands and continued further on closer to the location of the captain. His steps were soon halted as he heard a voice being directed at him. Although it was nothing particularly scary to the outside world, it hit a deafening tone in Ichiro's mind. Her voice rang through his mind like a thousand megaphones blasting simultaneously into his ears. It was a miracle that he was able to stand his ground without flinching. It was common courtesy for a Shinigami to answer a captain, and so Ichiro turned around and spoke, "Good afternoon taicho." and took a brief bow.

"Hello. Good to see some people still have respect for their elders." Mikontora replied. Hiyori wasn't too close to any members of the third squad, just she couldn't slay anybody without an order. "From what I've heard about most Third Division members as that they are all a little jumpy when it comes to talking to me. I'm surprised you aren't flinching. However, you seem to be a good little member. Hmm..." Hiyori paused, and jumped down from her perch. She landed right in front of Ichiro. A slight smirk appeared across her face.
Mikontora walked around him, and went to her things. As she placed them on, she began to speak again. "You are different than what I have heard about you. They didn't describe you in detail as much as I have thought. They left out quite a few details." Hiyori issued a slight laugh and turned to him. Hiyori placed a hand on her chin and shunpo'd in front of him. "Come." She barked. "You are going to join me on a walk. You are going to tell me about yourself. I do want to know more about you. Oh, don't worry, no one is on the "Most Wanted" list that I know of."

It was at that exact moment when Hiyori mentioned Ichiro's respect for elders, that he softened up his expression to return to a more casual stance. Based by what she had told him, he was one of the few people in Soul Society that had the nerve to talk to her directly without flinching even a second. Her stone cold gaze peered directly into his soft, warm, eyes with extreme interest, and Ichiro had no idea what had been going on even for a second. For a captain to be so interested in just a mere unseated officer in the third division...it was beyond Ichiro's comprehension. He attempted to get his thoughts straight as he listened to her complements. It was common courtesy to Ichiro that he complement her back for the simple fact that he was that type of man, and so he clearly spoke, "Thank you Hiyori-sama." He knew that a simple thank you would have given a good first impression on her. He could tell that she was strict in her own wild way and that she did uphold a certain level of courtesy. His eyes shifted from hers towards the ground as he couldn't believe what he just heard escape from her mouth.
A walk. Not just any walk, but a walk with the captain of the second division. Furthermore, she wanted to know more about him. His logical reasoning slowly flew away from him as he tried his best to comprehend the situation. There was a never a moment in his life where he had been put into such high esteem. It was nearly too much for him to handle. However, he held his head high up once more and realized that he had no choice but to walk with her. After all, she had told him in such a way where he was obligated to go, as if it were a command. And so Ichiro sighed slowly, and uttered, "Lead the way Hiyori-sama."

Hiyori grinned. "Fine. You just get to do most of the talking. I bet you are wondering why I have told you to go on a walk with me. There is no clear reason to that." The Second Division captain headed down a narrow path, and began her own thoughts. What have I gotten myself into? He probably is thinking that I like him... She crossed her arms and made a sharp turn on a wider pathway. "So, start talking."Mikontora paused and waited for Ichiro to start talking. Her maroon hair caught the light and the warmth of the sun was very comforting in the slight sadness of the past. However, that was of the past and not of the current, so Hiyori should forget it. Listening to others stories was something she remembered doing when she was an unseated officer herself. With her arms crossed she looked about where she was. Hiyori remembered it as a place that she used to come to talk to her superiors. Walking, talking, past memories attacked her like an Espada would have done. Her facial expression turned soft, then hard again, not wanting the unseated officer to notice her in a state of slight depression and the wave of memories flooded out again, almost as quick as they were recalled.

Ichiro followed the taicho casually as he usually would have and released the grip from his sword, placing it into its scabbard on his back. He figured that based on her sudden change in tone, that she had suspected him of taking a wrong impression, however Ichiro was no idiot and he knew how to read between the lines. Ichiro had changed his composure and had established a more extroverted image. His arms were relaxed and hanging loosely by his sides. His face had softened and his eyebrows lowered slightly indicating peace of mind. He thingyed his head upwards as he pondered for things to say to her. What in the name of the king of Soul Society should I say to her?
"My name's Ichiro Akane, unseated officer in the third division. I'm guessing you already know that though. I enjoy taking walks around Seireitei, and I also enjoy having company. I dislike olives and I absolutely hate paperwork. My current kill count is zero and I have had only one encounter with a hollow." His voice was as mechanical as never. At this point he had absolutely no idea what he should have or should have not said to satisfy her. He soon thought of a few more things to say and quickly followed up. "I lived in Northern Rukongai, but I stay in the third division quarters now. I have yet to learn my Zanpakuto's name yet...I was hoping that maybe in the following years I would get the chance to train for it. My captain never really allows me to go on my own when it comes to training."

Hiyori nodded. What he was telling her was just some slight information, some of which she did in fact already know. "Hmm...so, I guess this means it is my turn." Mikontora paused. "My name is Mikontora Hiyori, Captain of the Second Division, and encounters with hollows and others I've lost count." Hiyori paused. "So, that's basics. Anything else?"
Hiyori sighed. Getting to know someone takes time, and good thing that is what she had plenty of. She raised an eyebrow and leaned against the nearest wall. She could go and question him and learn most about anybody in the division that he knew well enough, but did she care that very moment.

Ichiro through raised a quick eyebrow as if it had been forcibly shoved upwards by a crowbar. The fact that she had actually lost the number of encounters with hollows she's faced had made Ichiro slightly frightened although not completely intimidated as of yet. As a new Shinigami, he had yet to delve out of the restrictions and laws abiding the Soul Society, especially since the Soul Society itself had been reformed only about a century ago. He had upheld all forms of organization until and by no means had he ever thought of breaking the laws which sanctioned the Court of Pure Souls. There was never a moment in his life where he had diminished all sense of liability and ratification, in which the price to pay was only imaginable by those who had experienced their consequences in full detail; those who were banished from existence. His bushy eyebrows returned to their respective positions and he glanced quizzically at the marble endorsed flooring.
"I'm not too keen on many things here in Soul Society. How's your Division like? I haven't heard much about the second division nor have I heard much about its function in Soul Society." His question was a brief request for information, subtle and without haste. The words escaped his mouth as if they had been thrown away like children being put up for adoption. His body tilted backwards and figuratively rocked back and forth as he gained equilibrium, waiting for the 2nd Division Taicho's reply.

"Well, my squad is mostly for assassinations and high-level threats. We kill traitors and are trained to keep order." Hiyori paused and a smirk crossed her face. Her eyes were laughing and in the sense so was she. "However, our history is slightly disappointing. We could not keep Aizen here!" Out of pure anger, Hiyori slammed her fist into the wall behind her. Hiyori's smirk turned into a wide frown, and her brows furrowed. Mikontora Hiyori clenched and unclenched her fists several times. "No one is proud of that. For that, we were trying our hardest to make it so!"
Hiyori, crossed her legs and sat down right on the ground. She propped her head on her hand, and placed her elbow on her knee. "So, what made you join the ranks?"
